First game of the season and we were thinking about heatstroke. Everyone was enthusiastic and willing to try a new formation with more forwards. This meant some playing out of position and outside their comfort zone. However, it started well with some great passing moves and attacking play, which left ourselves open at the back allowing Lewes through to score a direct goal.

We were soon attacking agian and after a prolonged and determined effort Lorrie managed to get the ball into the goal. Although Lewes came back and scored more goals, Worthing stuck to the plan of more attacking play - even when Elaine decided to get on the score sheet by putting a fantastic reverse stick shot past Sophie.

In summary, it was an enjoyable game and a good start to the season with a very positive attitude from everyone and great support for each other on the pitch. Many thanks to Chris Wheeldon for umpiring.
