Not a true reflection of the game unfortunately.
Starting over 25mins late, 10 mins more than league rules. No time to warm up the Goalie or even those of us that partake in a pre match warm up. We set of to play against a team of teenagers who had obviously been given copious amounts of "Blue smarties". We started well winning a flick in the opening minuets. Jamie Mantel, stepping up to the plate and slotting home the first goal.
Eastbourne hit back fast with their hypo forwards making our defense look somewhat slow. The defense held them at bay for a while until a 6 on 4 they got the better of us and they scored.
We fought back only to have their center back rugby tackles Jamie Mantel to the floor. Hoping the umpire would enlighten the player to the fact that he was in fact playing the wrong sport, he declined which surprisingly didn't sit easy with us. They continued to press us to the sum of 15 short corners which none were scored. Thanks mostly to me for kicking 1 and using a rather sensitive part of my anatomy to deflect the ball away from the goal on another occasion. Both hurt considerably this consequently gave them 2 P flicks. One of which Lighting Joe saved with an awesome save deflecting the ball wide of the goal which can only be described as mongoose like agility. He is proving be to a great asset to the team. Watch out Binnys (1XI Goalie) Unfortunatly the second deflected off his stick into the goal.
Thanks to all those that traveled to Eastbourne for a 16:55 start. Not very pleasant. And a big thanks to James "The skipper” Collette for making us travel all that way! Cheers. Your not getting a Christmas card!!
Thanks to James Godber for umpiring. Not a nice time of the day to do that much appreciated.
