Every now and then a game comes along where all the work on the training ground comes together and everything you try comes off, today was that day. Oxted are a strong and skillful side who are always in the top four and this year is no exception. The Tigers started strongly with good work down the right allowing Sam Wookey to take the 1st of his three  today.Far from sitting back and hoping one would be enough, the Tigers kept pressing, although Nathan Jenkins and the newby Tim Barter, no relation of the Tigers stalwart Peter Barter (resting for important semi-final), had to be on top of their games alongside the ever reliable Sam Gill and Sean Ward as Oxted made several good attacks. Conor Allam made a good save from a short corner and  then Sam Wookey settled nerves with an exquisite deflection finish and 2-0 at half time.As expected Oxted came out fast and furious in the second half and soon made the score 2-1. Again the Tigers picked up the tempo and Jake High finished a move with a stunning half volley from the top of the D,that left the keeper with no chance.Again Oxted pushed forward but the tigers were moving the ball with purpose and speed and Sam Wookey finished his hat-trick with a clinical finish from a very unselfish pass by Adam Ball. This was a tremendous team effort, a testemant to Peter Barters training drills and with one game to go a high finishing place is in our hands. Thanks to our two umpires Mike Shreeve and Luke Helmer and to wish Alex Minchell a speedy recovery from his broken wrist.
