Well done to Emma, Toni & Lucy (and Ted) for actually getting this game sorted, as Ashford didn't have a clue.  The details were finalised sometime in the week and we set off to Ashford with a squad of 15 (4 injured in some way and one sick).  We knew they would be good as they are top of the Kent Premier league but their warm up was lacklustre and after yesterday's fight we were raring to go.

We had all the pressure in the first 20 mins and with Hannah and Lucy kept in the back line up with Emma and Kim we knew that they would have to do something special to get through.  We passed the ball around excellently and had many shots of goal.  Their goalkeeper was all that was keeping them in it.  Super sub Andrea with her dodgy arm came on for 10 mins scored from a great cross from Gemma and left the pitch again.  Kirsty held the middle well and with Toni and Georgia pushing forward we looked quick on the break.  Shelley got back to make some great tackles on the left and got a great shot in.  At 2-0 we knew we hadn't won it and they fought back to win a short corner which they scored from.

At half time the score was 2-1, we were nervous and previous games in this position we had failed to keep our lead.  Andie still sore from yesterdays match scored another from a short corner. They fought back again and we were getting tired.  We were determined to win and Andie scored another from a great lunge on the floor. A last ditch tackle from Kirsty resulted in a green card and short corner from which they scored again. 4-2. 10 minutes to go. Gemma then ran them around first missing the goal then eventually getting one of her reverse stick flicks in.

This puts us in the third round in the national vase - finals here we come!
