Worthing Ladies 1st XI            2       Brighton Ladies 2nd XI            0

Due to multiple injuries and an all night party Worthing set out on Saturday with a slightly different team line up.  Having had success in the past few weeks the new formation was once again used and after a tactical team talk we took to the pitch in positive spirits.

Following Worthing’s push back the first half was eventful.  Play was evenly spread between Brighton and Worthing, however fairly early on Worthing was awarded a short corner.  The ball was injected in by Jess, neatly stopped by Hannah and Shelley’s straight strike hit its target putting us 1-0 up.

On a further break away I was passed the ball in the D and not only did I manage to miss the ball I also managed to send my stick flying.  The full house of Dandy Ronkey votes was well deserved!

Thankfully I was not responsible for Georgia’s 8 stitches, which she received from a ball to the head from the opposition while they were trying to play the ball into their circle.

We were slow to start in the second half with Brighton fighting back, taking possession of the ball causing Sarah to make some amazing saves which earned her the Man of the Match vote.

Following our rocky start we got some good accurate passes going moving the ball up the pitch into our half.  Great runs and skill from Mel and Shelley up front resulted in more opportunities and another short corner.  Once again Shelley scored after a ball from Kirsty taking the score to 2-0, which we managed to maintain till the final whistle blew.

A massive thanks you to Cirdec for his management and advice and thank you to our consistent rally of supporters on the sideline.
