Lewes started strongly and had Worthing under pressure during the initial exchanges. Worthing then came back into it and the play ebbed and flowed from end to end without much goal mouth drama. Sean ward defended well against some robust attacking play. 0-0 at half time.

Worthing started the second half with more commitment and quick break down the right led to a penalty corner, unsuccessfully completed. Continued Worthing pressure eventually paid off when Martin Stevens deflected a Gordon Starks shot past the keeper to make it 1 nil. Worthing then lost their grip on the game and it became scrappy. A quick break by Luc Hinton on the left allowed him to drive into the D. As the keeper charged out he slipped the ball to Martin Stevens who passed it into the empty net. Worthing were put under more pressure an relied on break- aways to create chances. Another break from defence found Gordon Starks who passed to Alex Mason on the right wing. He rounded the defender and drew the keeper before passing square to Luc Hinton who capped a good game with his second goal for the 4s. A very good effort by the whole team and a deserved win.
