Worthing Men’s 5th XI            5           Brighton Men’s 6th XI    1

It was an early start at home with a 10:00am push back the weather quite sunny and Brighton having push back, at the beginning of the first half. We were of to a good start with Aaron intercepting the ball and pushing it out to meet guns. A few minutes into the first half Worthing had their first short corner and that’s when we scored our first gaol, it was perfectly pushed in by Martin Stevens and accurately stopped by Aaron Chapman and powerfully hit home into the bottom left hand corner which made us 1–0 up we had a couple more short corners after that but they either went wide or they were saved but half Way through the half and we were appointed another short corner and Aaron at the top of the D ready to shoot along side Tim who was in position ready to stop for Aaron to hit and score which is exactly what happened it was beautifully and accurately pushed out by Luc Hinton, Tim was there to do a sensational stop and a fantastic hit by Aaron to make it 2-0 to Worthing and half time shortly followed 2 – 0.

After a brilliant pep-talk at half time by Dan French and bit by every one else we started of the half really well or so we thought Worthing started off with push back and straight on the attack, Brighton won their first short corner of the half and got it past Joe Isaacs & Dave Lock which made it 2-1. Down the other side of the pitch Worthing had a counter attack when John Herbert flicked it over the keeper and past the defender on the line, 3-1 to Worthing and another counter attack came our way with Guns hitting on to a defender’s foot with Worthing having yet another short corner but this time we did it differently, Martin pushed it out to meet Tim at the top of the D and he stop it perfectly and John came to hit it faked it and passed to Luc Hinton out on the right who takes a touch and has all the time in the world to shot and place’s it under the keepers kicker with out him realising hits the post and goes in. 4-1 to Worthing with only 20 minutes to go surely this means that Worthing would defend for the rest of the game, but oh no we went for another with a short corner again with martin pushing out Tim stopping and John Herbert hitting and it ricocheted of the keepers leg pad and came out to Luc Hinton and again had all the time in the world with the keeper on the floor Luc chips it over the keeper with a sweep shot in to the bottom left hand corner 5-1 to Worthing 5th XI it’s another win for the unbeaten at the top of the table 5-1 to Worthing.
