We had 2 of our stalwarts on international duty of one kind or another, Niger Parker in USA and Bob the Cat in Scotland, added to which John Beales got a last minute call to umpire this game because we had no umpire.
Our youngsters “answered the call” however, they never stopped running and the senior members on the day, Roger, Andrew and Howard held firm at the back although Crowborough had the majority of possession in the first half.
Crowborough 1 up at half time became increasingly under pressure as our youngsters built up attack after attack. We got our just reward when Leo’s shot found the back of the net. A Crowborough defender was then yellow carded for a serious foul on Ben who left the field with a damaged knee. We wish him a speedy recovery. From here on the pressure told and we scored 2 more goals (Marc) to end up worthy winners. Our 3rd victory in 4: with form like this, we shall soon be catching up the 5th’s!
