Again playing without an adult against an Eastbourne team with 2 competitive adults (but unable to provide an umpire!!) was certain to challenge the Tigers. However the side is growing in maturity with plenty of positive vocal contribution from all corners and a defence who are beginning to gel, so despite early pressure not bearing fruit they kept very focussed. Tom Gurney and Sam Wookey are working really well at the heart of the defence and Sam Gills goal was just deserts for another tireless display. Matt Issacs worked well down the right and linked well with Dalton Tessier who proved the downfall of the Eastbourne defence. For a period of the first half Tigers produced their best hockey of the season with some lovely vision from Alex Minchel, their work on passing/ball retention in training clearly paying off and but for an outstanding Eastbourne Keeper it would have been twice as many. Thanks as always to our umpires Mike Shreeve and Luke Helmer.
