More of what we saw at Lewes was the instruction for the start of this game and that's what we got. Alex Watkins, Alex Minchel And Dalton Tessier all scored within the first twenty minutes and the hockey was a joy to watch. The finale was a superb move down the right from the excellent Ellis Wooley, who crossed to Alex Minchel in the centre and he delivered a perfect return for a well-earned goal for Ellis. Alex Minchel then got a second and 5-0 to Tigers, job done!!!! Thanks to James Cook and ever-reliable umpire Luke Helmer.

At this point as so often happens the foot came off the gas and Horsham scored in the last five minutes of the half 5-1. Despite discussing not letting Horsham back into the game Tigers started the second half flat and on the back foot and two unanswered goals had the Tigers wobbling before a good move from mid field saw the lead restored to 6-3. To their credit a rejuvenated and skilful Horsham made it 6-4. This could have been even closer but for some good saves by new keeper Josh House and it was a relief when the final whistle went. A good lesson in closing out a game and again, in places, a stunning team performance.
