A slow start and difficulty in adapting to a slow triangle pitch led to early pressure from Mid Sussex and a goal after five minutes didn't bode well. However a few signature runs down the right from Ellis Woolley triggered a revival and 1-1 became 2-1 to the Tigers at the interval. With the talk at half time of taking the game to Mid Sussex, Alex Minchel responded superbly and with both flanks firing on all cylinders short corners arrived. Having worked over half term on these routines it was great to see them pay off, the pick being a drag flick into the top corner. Tom Gurney had an outstanding half against a strong Mid Sussex right mid and they were unable to add to their score, while Dalton Tessier and Alex Watkins put in a lot of hard work at the other end. 6-1 was not a score on the cards after 15 minutes and was a credit to the attitude of the Tigers that they turned this game around so comprehensibly. Thanks to Alex Mason, drafted in at the last minute and to Mike Shreeve for umpiring.
