You know your going to have a good day when your reduced to the bare minimum of players through illness on the morning of the game and upon completion of the hour and a half drive you are greeted with the sight of your 2 forwards being sick in the car park. Understandably Tigers were a little slow to get going and a well-organised Hastings had us under early pressure. To their credit Tigers weathered the storm and Josh House made a couple of cracking saves before finally being beaten by a wicked strike at a short corner. Further pressure followed before a rally towards the latter part of the first half saw the tigers have three opportunities in quick succession and on another day we would have gone in level at half time.
Tigers pushed up for the first part of the second half and again had the better of the play before a breakaway saw Saxons make it 2-0. Again we pushed forward and again were hit on the break but to our credit and through gritted teeth we pushed for a consolation which came in the last few minutes and considering no substitutes and Saxons having four, this was a good effort. A difficult and frustrating day but a good point to take from the day was younger players improvement such as Cieran Dinning and Luke Barker. Thanks to Tedmo and Mungo for their help.
Team: Josh house, Luke Barker, Sam Gill, Sam Wookey, Leo French, Cieran Dinning, Tom Gurney, Ellis Woolley (1 Goal), Alex Watkins, Dalton Tessier
