Worthing Wolves 0           Chichester Cherubs            3

This week the team played a lot better.  They had taken in the advice given to them during previous games.  We started the game with only 1 adult.  The boys played for each other and the passing was good and more accurate.  Having been given their starting position it soon became apparent that position changes had to be made and that worked much better.  The tackling was well timed and Cherubs had real difficulty breaking through the defence.  When they did break through Luc Hinton saved the shots.  We did have a chance on goal.  The ball was passed around the pitch and the Wolves got to the ‘D’ where Marc received the ball and in an attempt to get out of the way of the ball as it was coming towards his feet, he jumped over the ball tried to flick it into the goal but instead knocked his own feet in the process.  The ball reached the keeper who knocked it out for a sideline hit.  The game was fast and end-to-end.

In the second half Wolves were down 2-0 when Matthew Lay received the ball and hit it towards goal only to be denied by the keeper.

Throughout the second half positioning of the boys was directed by Mark Duncan who offered to play for the Wolves.   Wesley Milne, the youngest and smallest player on the pitch, managed to keep 2 Cherubs at bay and prevented them from breaking through the defence.  The boys played with high spirits never giving up. With 2 adults on the pitch it made for some good play.  Thank you to Greg Middleton and Mark Duncan for assisting the boys on the Pitch.  James Hussey (Mags) for umpiring at short notice, Kirsty Picket for assisting me with directions and guidance from the sideline and at half time.  Thank you all for making the game enjoyable and good-natured.
