Worthing Wolves 0                     Horsham Hotshots            10

After a long break, nearly 4 weeks, we finally played hockey on a wet Saturday morning.  Hotshots turned up with a full squad including 5 or more subs after being worried earlier in the week not to be able to field a team, Football seem to be interfering.  Hotshots being strong dominated the whole of the game.  However, Wolves true to their form held Hotshots at bay and on occasions had them under pressure.  The passes were short and accurate.  Simple hockey was the order of the day.  The team strung some very good passes together but were intercepted by Hotshots’ adult player in front of goal.  We were on form until the ball found its way past Travis our goalkeeper.  After that our game went downhill and soon the goals were going against us.  Half time 0 – 4.  Positive talk at half time saw the team pushing up again in the second half.  Hotshots had now taken off their adult player but lots of county players remained on the field!  Wolves kept trying to find a way through via Marc and Adam but without success.  The rain did not help and the final whistle could not come soon enough.

Thank you boys for being positive and hopefully enjoying the game and learning from it.  Next Season will be a lot better.  For now don’t forget that you are the youngest team in the league with an average age of 11 ½.

Thank you to Greg and Tom for assisting in making our youngest players more capable in understanding and playing the game of hockey.

Thank you to the umpires for making this game fair and enjoyable (except for the goals against us.)
