What a game!  The boys played a brilliant game of hockey.  They have taken in the things we discussed after our last match.  The passing was more accurate and communication became more apparent.  Positioning on the pitch is taking shape but will still need some work.

 

The game itself was fast and very fast on some occasions.  There was some good forward passing by Adam Hart and Josh Hunt and a few opportunities were missed in both halves.  Hotshots were just too strong for us.  We defended well with Ross Fletcher and Jack Cooper tackling anything that came their way.   Marc Hinton (GK) saved more goals than we conceded.  A well deserved player of the Match. 

 

Thanks to John Beales who offered to play and than was switched to being our umpire.  Thankfully Dave Goodwin had his boots and stick in the car and offered to be our second adult on pitch.  His directions and guidance helped the boys in playing the game.  Also I would like to thank Robin Carr who is always prepared to help me out when we don’t have enough adults for the team.  Thanks to Mr Fletcher and Richard Rudrum for helping with the half time team talk and the side line directions.

 

Well done again to all the boys that played this week.

 

I received an email from Horsham Hotshots manager to apologise for the mismatch and lack of sensible approach his Hotshots applied.  This was a nice touch and one that is appreciated by us all.
