Worthing Wolves 0           Penguins Juniors 0

Today’s game against Penguins saw our boys ably assisted by Bryan Lock and Johnnie Massie hold Penguins to a nil – nil draw.

The beginning of the match went Penguins ways.  They got the early attack but Wolves managed to keep Penguins out of the danger zone by forcing Penguins to make mistakes under pressure.  Wolves used their space on the pitch to their advantage.  The passes were accurate and precise.  The boys enjoyed their hockey.  They took the advice from both Bryan and Johnnie on board.  Throughout the game the boys battled getting in the tackles and winning free hits.  During the whole game Wolves had a few attempts at goal only to be denied by Penguins’ keeper.  Any further attempt to break through Penguins’ defence was denied them by the Adult player.  Wolves kept their formation very well making it fairly impossible for Penguins to break through.  Johnnie Massie cleared up any balls that did get through. Another attack at goal was mounted starting from the back with accurate and speedy passes on the right and a longer push into the D caused Penguins to foul our attacker and a short corner awarded.  Short corner taken Brad pushed into the D leaving the ball for Bryan to push into the D.  Again the penguin defence fouled and another short corner was given.  The same set up but this time Penguins were wiser and got the ball out of the danger zone.

This was an evenly matched game which was played in an enjoyable sunny but windy morning.  Well done to you all for making this a pleasant morning.

Players of the match:  Wesley Milne, Gareth Middleton and Jack Cooper.  Well done to you all for getting our very 1st point of the season and a big thank you to Bryan Lock, Johnnie Massie, Bob Catlow for supporting and Scrote for assisting me with team tactics on the side line.
