Lewes were unable to raise a side this week conceding the game and this gave Worthing an automatic 5-0 Win, 3 points and after reviewing the league after today’s results we are now safe in Division 4. Hailsham away next week then a two-week gap before our rematch against Eastbourne.

A late phone call on Friday night and the arrangement of a 5th XI Vs Tigers game was arranged.

A friendly arranged very late Friday night due to Lewes conceding, a full strength 5th XI went out against the Worthing Tigers in a development game for the Tigers and a game for us.

The Men started strong scoring 3 goals in reasonably quick concession two from Alex Minchell and one from Jon Humphreys, the Tigers held strong with some good attacks getting one back just before Roger Langmaid netted one.

First half 4-1, the second half began and the men were tiring, as the juniors were still going despite having already played for one or another team earlier in the day. The Tigers brought it back to 4-3 before Worthing scored another, from Jon Humphreys. A P-Flick for Tigers hit home and another from Jon to make the result 6-5 on the final whistle.

I believe an enjoyable game had by all and some experience for the Tigers against an adult side.

Result was pretty fair too as the Men really struggled in the second half, and you have got to give the Tigers credit for not giving up after being 3-0 down so early.

Thanks to all especially Richard Rudrum and Mungo for umpiring at last minute.
