A very crisp Sunday afternoon was an opportunity for the new generation of Worthing Hockey Club mixed hockey team players to make their mark in the England Hockey national mixed cup.
A fast paced game against a skilful Eastbourne side meant the Worthing players had to bring out their best.
Lots of goal scoring pressure from WHC in the first half resulted in several short corners and brilliant conversions from Lewis.
Mixed team captain, Sharon Price commented on the game: “Both teams were determined to win today and it all came down to the penalty flicks. A few nerve wracking moments watching the bravest of our team step up and we were victorious 7-6.”
“I am so proud of the team today, it was the first time we have played together and we smashed it. A perfect example of mixed hockey on display by the always fabulous WHC.”
