The Worthing Hockey Club teams got off to an encouraging start to the new season after a fun- filled WHC club day on Saturday 11th September.
All WHC men’s and ladies team came together on the warm September Saturday to celebrate 125 years of the club and the start of the new hockey season.
The member-built clubhouse was a hive of activity with families and friends attending and all teams supporting each other.
We caught up with Ladies Club Captain, Katie Neil-Smith after the day. “It was really great to see many of the club players and members and several new new interested players who all joined in with the games. We had a packed schedule of five games including the Wolves, Ladies, Men’s and mixed teams.
“It was a really successful day, lots of happy people enjoying the games, music and getting involved. The ladies section especially is feeling very excited to get stuck into the new season, to play hockey and catch up.
“Club day was a great opportunity to motivate everyone and to meet the new and returning players this season. We all feel it’s going to be a positive one.”
Friendly matches are scheduled for the home teams before kicking off the 2021/2022 season. For all news from WHC click here >>>
