We’re always happy to welcome new members. Members enjoy a fun, social and friendly atmosphere with hockey available for all ages and abilities – from established club league players to newcomers looking to experience the game.
Membership
Worthing Hockey Club (WHC) is fun, friendly and inclusive. We welcome all ages and abilities, from age six and up. When you join, you become a member of one of one of the largest and most sociable hockey clubs in Sussex.
WHC membership runs throughout the year. The regular hockey season takes place from September through to April, and we have an active off-season programme of events, friendlies and training.
We have over twelve teams in our club, covering a wide range of ages and abilities, and offer a range of membership packages to suit everyone.
Membership includes access to high-level coaching, weekly two-hour training sessions, league match playing opportunities, coaching and umpire training development, annual social activities and fundraising events.
Training takes place on weekdays and weekends, with matches on Saturdays and Sundays from September to April. Our summer social hockey games are open to all (some sessions are over 13s only). *Summer hockey and training outside September to April subject to an extra fee.

Annual subscriptions are payable by online bank transfer or by monthly standing order.

- Adults £240, reduced to £216 if paid by 31st October 2024 (+ match fees below)

- Adult Limited Play Social** £70 (upto 6 matches per season+ £15 match fee per match)
- Adult Social (Non playing only)*** £20
- Juniors (Under 18****) £120 (including all September to April midweek training sessions (+ match fees below))
- Comets (Under 12) £120 (including all September to April Sunday training sessions (+ match fees below))
- Full time education, if under 25, £120
- Installment plan options available across 10 payments
* Reduced Adult membership available – in order to make the club as inclusive as possible, applications can be made directly to the Chairperson or Welfare Officer only, to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
** £70 limited play social membership allows access to clubhouse and social events as well as no more than 6 games per season. Above this threshold full membership rates apply.
*** £20 social membership allows access to clubhouse and social events only. No games and no training.
**** Aged under 18 on 1st September 2024 (school year 13 and below).
Match Fees
- Adults : £10 per match
- Social limited play adults : £15 per match
- Juniors and full time education : £7 per match
- Comets (under 12) : £4 per tournament
