Our Ladies second XI had a wonderful game on Saturday 9th October away to Brighton.
Captain Debbie tell us how they got on “We travelled to Brighton for the 3rd game of the season. We went with a full team and subs and we were all feeling very positive and happy as the sun was shining and it was a complete contrast to last weeks torrential rain!
“We had the first push back and started with our attack, within the first 5 minutes we had scored our first goal. This pushed us to continue our attack and within the first 10 minutes we were 3 -0 up. We were then able to use our subs and bring on fresh legs…this enabled us to keep our attack at full pace.
“The first half ended 5 – 0. Our half time team talk was very positive and we were ready to make the most of our position. 3 goals later and the game ended 8 – 0.
“Our win was down to fantastic team work. Everyone worked together, supporting and communicating effectively. Our passes were quick and accurate and we were moved the ball around the pitch well, using the full width. Brighton found it difficult to mark us and when they did manage to get an attack in we were quick to defend and take possession back. It was an amazing game and the whole team showed great skills and demonstrated high quality hockey.”
We are so proud of the team who are playing so well together. Well done to goal scorers Julie two goals, Hannah two goals, Hayley, Carol, Jemma and Debbie one goal each.
