In a packed Sunday of matches, the Mens O40s had an enjoyable and competitive match against Guildford in the England Hockey Association Trophy Round 2. The game also raised awareness for the cancer charity Foxtrot Oscar Cancer that looks to raise money for different cancer charities each year.
Guilford started the match quickly, going 2-0 up in the early stages. Worthing pulled it back to 2-1 before half time thanks to Jez Subedar. In the second half, Worthing equalised from a penalty corner, making it 2-2 at the end of normal time. The match was decided on penalty strokes with Guildford progressing to Round 3 after winning the shoot-out 4-2. A great afternoon of cup hockey and all for a good cause too.
